The focus moves from the sub-bass to the mid-range: distorted, metallic, “talking” bass sounds built to tear up big sound systems. Rusko and Caspa started it in London, but it was in the United States, with Skrillex and the EDM boom, that the sound exploded. The name “brostep” began as a joke, but today it stands for a whole generation.
