Named after Jamaican riddims: a repeated backing track that everything is built on. Fewer notes, more groove. The drop revolves around one or two simple bass sounds (often square waves or very blocky “wubs”) repeated with small variations. Divisive for fans of classic dubstep, but huge in the American scene in recent years.
